Great Little Cabin
Sturdy, small (12x12), two year old cabin. Located six miles up the Klawock-Hollis Highway from the Clark Bay ferry terminal on West Harris River Road. Cabin is a three hour ferry voyage from Ketchikan or a 20 minute float plane trip. Shopping, schools, and a medical clinic are about a half an hour drive into Klawock or Craig. Nice timbered half acre lot with another area cleared just off the driveway for a boat, garage, or whatever. Cabin has a battery, generator, inverter system for electricity and propane for an on demand water heater and cook stove. For heating there's a safe, efficient DeVille oil stove. There is a great shower and a real flush toilet. A small creek feeds a 300 gallon water tank and passes through a filter inside the cabin. A pull down ladder leads to a loft that sleeps four. This is a perfect get-away for hunters and fishermen but nice enough for a romantic vacation with someone special. Two people could live here and be comfortable year-round. Bucks taken right outside with a limit of four bucks a year and a five month hunting season. Black bear also very abundant. Walk 10 minutes down the gravel road and fish three species of salmon and steelhead on the Harris River. We were limiting on Coho every evening the last week I was there. Crabbing and shrimping are also excellent. I'm currently at sea but will be back on the island the first week of November. Cabin can be shown by my neighbor on request. Contact me for more photos.
